10 BEST BBW Dating Apps For Plus Size Singles

Are you looking for the best BBW dating apps for dating plus size singles?

With so many dating apps and websites aimed at the general population, it can be really hard to find the type of sexy person you’re looking for. Big and Beautiful Women are definitely out there, but the last thing you want to do is spend all day searching through profiles of smaller women who just aren’t suitable.

The good news is that there’s such a thing as a BBW dating app for plus size dating. And it’s exactly what you need in your dating life right now.

In this article, I’m going to take a look at the best BBW dating apps. I’ll be taking a look at how they work, how much they cost, and I’ll also be sharing with you my personal experiences using the apps.

BBW Dating Apps For Dating Plus Size Dating

1. WooPlus

With over 200,000 active users each week, WooPlus is pretty much the OG of the BBW dating app world. Its zero-tolerance approach to fat-shaming has helped to seal its popularity, and while the ratio of male/female is 2:1, there’s still enough plus-sized women on here to go around.

How does It work?

The signup process is a breeze and takes a matter of minutes because WooPlus only needs your most basic information right away. Then, your account is up and running, and you can add more info to your profile as you go along. You can also add as many pics as you want, while the personality tests are optional (they’re a lot of fun, though!).

Searching for other users is free but you can’t message someone until a) you match with them and b) you upgrade your account. If you upgrade your account, you can send messages to people who aren’t even a match, too.

My Experience

I’m a male and I was slightly put off by the male to female 2:1 ratio before I signed up. But I soon learned that the number is completely irrelevant. As long as you upload your best pics and be your charming, most flirtatious self, you’ll do okay.

I landed two dates within my first week on WooPlus. I typically started by sending gifts to other members (although sometimes I “poked” them), and I found that this was a better way to grab people's attention than a direct message.

That said, I made sure to add lots of details to my profile (the profiles on WooPlus tend to be very detailed) and I made changes and improvements as I went along. A lot of my success hinged on my witty answers to the personality questions. The funnier you are on this app, the more success you’ll have.

What does It cost?

  • 1 month without VIP – $6
  • 1 month with VIP – $15
  • 2 months with VIP – $12 per month
  • 3 months with VIP – $9 per month

Pros

  • Specifically for BBWs
  • Lots of active users
  • No fake profiles

Cons

  • Male to female ratio is quite high

2. LargeFriends

LargeFriends

LargeFriends is another dating app aimed specifically at plus size singles. It’s ideal if you’re looking for something short term, or something longer term, and the app is free to download if you’ve got an Android.

How does It work?

The sign-up process takes 5 minutes max, and you need to fill in who you are, what you’re looking for, your age, your location, and a few other basic details. You’ll also need to write yourself a catchy headline and fill in a brief description of yourself, and what you’re looking for.

Then, you can either search for members one-by-one via a feature called Spark, or you can glance at multiple members at the same time. To send messages, you need to upgrade to a premium account. You can also add people to a list of favorites, and – if you’re not sure what to write – you can shoot them a wink.

My Experience

With around 15,000 active weekly users, LargeFriends isn’t the biggest BBW dating app around. However, it comes with a blog that is a great way to meet more people, and everyone who uses the site is open, friendly, and non-judgemental.

You can upload as many as 26 pics, and I made sure to upload numerous that showed me from different angles. I also posted a few blogs and made several contacts that way. Overall, I found LargeFriends to be a very body-positive dating app that can be used to land dates and make new friends.

What does It cost?

  • 1 month – $30
  • 3 months – $20
  • 6 months – $16

Pros

  • Lots of great features
  • Aimed specifically at BBW’sCan add as many as 26 photos

Cons

  • Need to subscribe to send messages

3. BBWCupid

BBWCupid

BBW is a popular BBW dating app that claims to have 40,000 active weekly users. It’s especially popular in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK, and can be used for long-term dating or friendship.

How does It work?

The signup process (which includes a mandatory personality test) takes around 3 minutes and is fairly hassle-free. Once your profile is up and running, the app automatically puts a few matches in front of you. There’s also a free search tool to find other users, and you can send instant messages as soon as you’ve upgraded your account.

My Experience

Success came easy for me on BBWCupid because it specifically pairs up BBW with their admirers (like me!). The key to success on this app is to be polite and respectful at all times because this is not a hookup app. It’s simple, clean, and easy to get to grips with.

What does It cost?

  • 1 month – $30
  • 3 months – $20 per month
  • 12 months – $12 per month

Pros

  • Aimed specifically at BBWs
  • Can do lots of things on the app for free
  • Landing a match is easy

Cons

  • Could do with a video call function

4. Match

match.com

The match is a premium dating app used by millions of people around the world who are looking for romance, love – and even marriage. It’s also the second-largest dating app in the world.

How does It work?

Signing up to Match is free and doesn’t take more than a few minutes. You can also search for other users for free, but to see who’s messaged you (and to message someone back) you need to subscribe.

The match is so confident that it will help you find the plus-size woman or man of your dreams that it even offers you 6 months worth free if your first 6 months yield no success.

My Experience

Once my profile was up and running, I was deluged by visitors and winks. In a nutshell, Match is a very busy dating app that people take seriously. However, it’s for people of all shapes and sizes, so if you’re looking for a BBW, it might take you a bit of time. After one month using it, I was able to land two dates with a BBW.

What does It cost?

  • 1 month – $35
  • 3 months – $25
  • 6 months – $15

Pros

  • Second biggest dating app in the world
  • Lots of genuine users who are looking for love
  • Don’t need to match in order to start messaging someone

Cons

  • Expensive

5. OkCupid

OkCupid

OkCupid is an LBGTQ+ friendly dating app that’s full of open-minded, non-judgmental people. While it isn’t aimed specifically at plus size singles, the fact that its millions of users are so tolerant means you shouldn’t find it too hard to find what you’re looking for.

How does It work?

Sign up takes a few minutes and you’ll need to answer a few personality questions. However, unlike most dating apps these days, OkCupid is free to send messages.

There is a catch, though. The other person can’t see your message until they’ve matched with you, and you can’t see someone’s profile once you’ve sent your introductory message until they’ve matched with you.

My Experience

Because OkCupid isn’t aimed specifically at BBWs, it can be a little tricky to find what you’re looking for. However, I found that there are lots of plus-sized singles on here, and it’s simply a matter of having a bit of patience, filling out a detailed profile, and sending interesting (and funny and flirty!) messages. Success will then come, as it did for me.

What does It cost?

  • Free to send messages

Pros

  • Free
  • Easy to use
  • LGBTQ- friendly

Cons

  • Can be hard to land a match thanks to restrictions

6. Plenty of Fish

Plenty of Fish

Plenty of Fish (POF) is another general dating app aimed at people of all shapes and sizes. It’s free to send messages, boasts almost a million daily logins, and is used by people who are looking for casual dating or something longer term.

How does It work?

POF makes you answer a very lengthy personality test before your profile is ready, and you will need to add a headline to your profile (to help it stand out in the search results) as well as some lines in your bio. Searching for other users is free, as is sending and receiving messages. To see who’s “liked” you, you’ll need to upgrade.

My Experience

POF is one of the easiest dating sites to succeed on because it’s completely hassle-free. You don’t need to match with someone to send a message to them, and you don’t need to pay a dime.

It’s also not difficult to find BBWs here. For every page of search results, I’d say there was always at least one BBW in my experience.

What does It cost?

  • Free to send messages

Pros

  • Completely free
  • Great search function
  • 4 million daily logins

Cons

  • Could be hard to find a BBW

7. eHarmony

eHarmony

eHarmony is a premium dating app aimed specifically at singles who are seeking long-term commitment, and possibly even marriage. If you’re looking for love, this could be the app for you.

How does It work?

Creating an account takes a good 10 minutes, and you need to fill out a compatibility quiz and a personality test, as well as add some pictures.

Once your profile is ready, you can send winks to other users, but you need to upgrade to send messages. If you’re not a fan of writing opening messages, the app lets you ask a series of automated questions to a potential match. If you both like each other’s answers, you can then reveal your whole profile.

My Experience

eHarmony is a useful app if you’re looking for love, but it is expensive and it’s not aimed specifically at BBWs. There are BBWs here, but you’ll need the patience to find them.

What does It cost?

  • 6 months – $35 per month
  • 12 months – $15 per month
  • 24 months – $12 per month

Pros

  • Established, reputable dating site
  • Used by serious members who are genuinely looking for a relationship
  • The vigorous sign-up process ensures you’ll be matched with someone compatible

Cons

  • Not cheap

8. Tinder

Tinder

Tinder was the world’s first “swipe” app that’s still used by millions of people today. It’s ideal for casual sex encounters, friendship, and long-term dating.

How does It work?

Creating an account and sending messages is completely free. You can add anything you like in your profile, or leave it totally bare. However, there’s no search function – instead, you’re given an endless queue of potential matches who you have to swipe right or left on. If you match with someone, only then can you send them a message.

My Experience

While Tinder isn’t aimed specifically at BBWs, there are lots of plus-sized singles who use the app. If you’re seeking a BBW, you should do what I did and state this in your profile. I then used a few of the paid features, such as the Super Like and the Boost, to ensure I got as many suitable matches as possible as fast as possible.

Overall, I landed 5 dates in 2 weeks with Tinder.

What does It cost?

  • Free to send messages
  • Tinder Gold costs $25 per month

Pros

  • Free
  • Millions of active users
  • Swipe function means it won’t be long before you come across a BBW

Cons

  • May need to upgrade to Tinder Gold to achieve success

9. Bumble

Bumble

Bumble is very similar to Tinder, except it’s generally more BBW-friendly, and many people use it for meeting new friends.

How does It work?

Bumble is free to sign up to and send messages, but only women can initiate conversations. Like Tinder, Bumble is a swipe app and you can only chat with people you’ve matched with.

My Experience

Because only women can start a conversation, it’s not super easy to engage with BBWs on Bumble. However, I made a point of stating in my bio what I was looking for, and it wasn’t long before I was chatting to BBWs. And because they messaged me first, I wasted little time in taking things away from the app and setting up a date.

What does It cost?

  • Free to send messages

Pros

  • Free
  • The high active daily user base
  • Roughly a 1:1 male to female ratio

Cons

  • Men can’t send the first message

10. Hinge

Hinge

Hinge’s tagline is “the dating app that’s designed to be deleted.” Essentially, it wants to be the last app someone will ever need in the pursuit of love. With millions of regular users, and with new ones joining all the time, it’s a worthy free dating app for those looking for long-term relationships.

How does It work?

You have to download and install Hinge on your mobile device. Signing up takes a matter of minutes, and you don’t even need to add anything to your bio. Instead, Hinge asks a series of prompts to which you can give answers that are then displayed on your profile. The more prompts you to answer (usually with one or two lines), the easier it will be to find a potential match.

You can swipe left or right on users in your “queue”, while Hinge suggests users every now and then based on how compatible it thinks the two of you are. If you’re not sure how to break the ice with someone, you can start by just “liking” their photos or answers to prompts.

My Experience

I won’t lie – I think Hinge is possibly the hardest dating app to succeed on if you’re looking for a BBW. Yes, BBWs use the app, but without search filters, it can be very hard to find what you’re looking for. On the plus side, it’s free and there’s no harm downloading it and using it as a backup. Myself, I managed to land just one date inside a month on the app.

What does It cost?

  • Free to send messages

Pros

  • Free
  • Simple but elegant design
  • Hinge curates a list of potential matches for you

Cons

  • Lack of a proper search function

These are the best BBW dating apps for plus size dating. My personal favorites are BBWCupid and Large Friends, but the best thing to do is to mix things up with a premium app and some of the free ones (like OkCupid). The more apps you sign up to, the more chances you’ll have of success.
